Lexie von Lychen is a wonderful 12 month old German Shepherd.
Per her own words, “Hi my name is Lexie. I suffered a horrible attack to my face and was dumped to die at a high-kill shelter in a rural area. Westside stepped up to save me and I cannot thank the volunteers and supporters enough. But even after a few months here, no one has ever asked to meet me. At the adoption events, I see my beautiful Shepherd friends leave with their new families and I lay my head back on my paws, hoping that one day a special someone will come just for me. I am a little anxious in the beginning when walking on leash but I do get comfortable with new volunteers quickly. I meet dogs great on walks; I love all the dogs I meet and it is no big deal for me. I am a wonderful girl who really enjoys affection and, once I am out of my kennel, I really show off my happy-go-lucky personality. I will cuddle and shower you with kisses if you let me! In my playgroups I am absolutely perfect: I am accustomed to being around other dogs, big and small, and the kennel techs use me as a test dog for their new dogs. The water hose scares me so, when they turn it on for the other dogs to play with, I will hide in the igloo. I know I am not a classic beauty but I hope you will look beyond that and see that I am just bursting with love. I dream every night of having my own special someone or family to adore, and I can’t wait for them to say “come on Lex, you’re coming home with us.” When that happens, I’ll know that dreams really do come true!
